Change windows 8 text display size:

• Right click on a blank area of the desktop (see 1 below)

• Click on "make text or other items larger or smaller" (see 2 below)

• Check the "let me chose one scaling level for all of my displays" check-box (see 3 below)

• Select the appropriate size and then click apply to save, you will need to log off and back on again to see the changes
